Drug Discovery Digital will include cutting edge talks on new directions in drug discovery. The scientific programme features over 50 world-class speakers with 8 main session tracks and 2 plenary keynote speakers. The impact of sex on gene expression across human tissues

A recent article published on Science by Oliva and coworkers brilliantly describes how sex-biased gene expression extensively occurs in tissues, even in tissues that do not contribute to characteristic sexually dimorphic traits. Using Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) data, the authors showed that 37% of genes in at least one of the 44 tissues studied exhibit a tissue-specific, sex-biased gene expression and described cis expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs) with sex-differentiated effects.

British Journal of Pharmacology is recruiting a senior editor

The British Journal of Pharmacology is recruiting a senior editor with broad expertise in gastro-intestinal pharmacology and/or natural products. Senior Editors are either current members of the British Pharmacological Society or willing to join the Society. Senior Editor posts are initially for a 4-year term, with possible 12-month extensions to a maximum of 7 years

Early Career Clinical Pharmacologist Abstract Competition

If you are a medical student, internal medicine and core medical trainee (IMT/CMT) or a pre-registration pharmacist / pharmacists up to 2-years post qualification, and you are employed or studying in UK or Ireland, you can participate to The Early Career Clinical Pharmacologist Abstract Competition.

Abstracts should be related to the following categories:
• Research projects linked to clinical pharmacology
• Audit or quality improvement project on the use of medicines
• Education abstracts on safe prescribing
• Interesting case reports related to clinical pharmacology

Authors of the top 3 abstracts from each discipline will be invited to present to Pharmacology 2020 and the final winner will be awarded £250.

Pharmacology 2020 programme is online

The programme of Pharmacology 2020, the annual meeting of British Pharmacological Society is online. Abstract submission for poster and oral presentation is still open and will close in a week. Early bird registration is open until 25 October.

The conference will be in a virtual format and will feature even more interesting sessions than before: five days full of symposia, workshops, social activities and interactive poster sessions are waiting for you.
